From July 21 to 22, 2025, the Central South University National Graduate College For Elite Engineers successfully held the 2025 Summer Outstanding Undergraduate Student Recruitment and Open House Activities. This event aimed to build an interactive platform for communication between the college and students, enabling participating students to learn about the college, understand the disciplines, and experience the university's excellent teaching and research atmosphere. Nearly one hundred outstanding undergraduate students from across the country participated in the activities.

On the morning of July 22, the opening ceremony was held in Classroom 505, Science and Education North Building, Yuelu Mountain Campus. Vice Deans Chen Ailiang, Liu Fangyang, and Huang Keke of the college, as well as Professors Yang Chunhua, Zou Yingping, and Zhang Zongliang, attended the event. At the opening ceremony, Vice Dean Chen Ailiang delivered an address titled "The Mission and Responsibility of Outstanding Engineers in the New Era," encouraging students to strive to scale new heights in the field of engineering technology with the spirit of "daring to be the first and pursuing excellence." Vice Dean Liu Fangyang systematically introduced the college's educational characteristics of "facing national strategies, focusing on industrial needs, and deepening industry-education integration," and analyzed the college's differentiated talent cultivation model from three dimensions: "interdisciplinary platform, university-enterprise joint supervisors, and dual-base cultivation." Professor Zhang Zongliang and Vice Dean Huang Keke respectively provided detailed explanations of the characteristic advantages, research achievements, and application prospects of the new energy and energy storage discipline and intelligent science and technology, highlighting the innovative vitality of interdisciplinary integration.

During the academic presentation session, Professor Yang Chunhua, with the theme of "Reflections on Industrial Knowledge-Enhanced Large Models Empowering Intelligent Manufacturing," shared cutting-edge insights combined with practical industrial case studies, revealing innovative pathways for the integration of artificial intelligence technology and traditional manufacturing. Professor Zou Yingping conducted an in-depth analysis of innovative achievements in the field of "Solar Cell Materials and Devices," progressing layer by layer from material preparation to device performance optimization, bringing students an academic feast that combined both professional depth and practical value.

During the enterprise presentation session, Zhao Xin, a 2012 graduate, delivered a presentation titled "Digital Transformation and Data-Driven Applications," sharing technological innovation pathways and enterprise practical experience in the wave of digitalization combined with actual cases of industrial transformation, demonstrating the real picture of how digital technology reshapes industrial ecosystems. Professor Lu Yang, with the theme of "Sulfide Solid Electrolytes—From Laboratory to Industrialization," provided an in-depth analysis of the full-chain transformation practice of research achievements from basic research to pilot scale-up to industrial landing, enabling students to directly experience the industrial value of engineering technology.

After the presentations, students, led by staff, respectively visited the Intelligent Science and Technology Laboratory located in Minzhu Building and the New Energy and Energy Storage Laboratory in the Science Building.
